I'm going to be purchasing 2 Solo-Baric 12" L5 subs, and was wondering if I'm better off powering them with a stereo amp or one larger mono amp.
I was looking at the Power Acoustik A2400DB and then wiring the subs down to 1ohm. Is there any benefit to doing this versus using a stereo amp? If I was to go this route, what gauge of wire would I have to look at getting?

 

I doubt you will find a stereo amp big enough, so get a 1 channel (mono) there will be no difference.

 

Does anybody have any info on if I'd be better with a Brutus BXI1606D from HiFonics or that power acoustik one?
