Mono Amp Suggestions for 500+ @ 4-ohms
 

Cost is a major factor here. I'm trying to do this for under $200, but somewhere in that range is where I'm looking.

I'm powering a single Eclipse SW8200

I've been looking at hifonics using the ugotadeal website but haven't settled on anything - do people here have opinions on their gear?

For $200 your best bet would be to check the classifieds on this site.

Hey folks,

So I'm on the final stretch of the journey before the install and received a couple PM's about different units and suggestions.

Perhaps a bit about myself before you jump to a quick suggestion. I'm not interested in being the loudest car (or even the 2nd loudest car) I can't imagine I'll ever really put out jaw-rattling sound. I consider myself a (snobby) connoisseur of good music and like to listen to it with as much clarity as possible in my drives to and from work (or to the cottage or whatever). My love is jazz but my passions are funk, soul, reggae (mainly roots) and selective hip-hop. I'd be quite happy if nobody ever knew what I was listening to. My ears are pretty damaged though (but the hundreds of concerts were mostly well worth it) so I'd like to make noise if I was inclined.


I was offered a PowerBass ASA-600.2 here from a very nice poster but am also very interested in the Crunch PZI 2000.1D (or even the 2500.1D).

Keeping in mind my preference for accuracy and the ability to create a well-balanced (nothing over-powered) system, would either of those two units work for my purposes? Are there any drawbacks to running the PowerBass at 4ohms on 1 channel (600w) permanently?

Would there be any reason to keep spending time looking for the 'perfect' fit for my system?
