first it was the issue of mismatching the impedance of the sub and amp....and now this. The XXX 15 RE sent to me to india is damaged. The basket has cracks at 2 points and the lower stack magnet has shifted from its original position. The cone has no movement at all. The sub CANNOT be used. What should i do??? RE sent it through Fedex and fedex came and inspected the sub and saw the damage. Will i have to pay for a new one?? HELP!!!!

if it was insured, then fedex will pay for the new one.
if not, sorry 'bout your luck! |
Meh.. I'd say if it's not insured it's still up to RE to take care of it.
It's not actually his product until he has it in his hands. It's up to RE to make sure it gets there safely |
RE will take care of ya, atleast they did me when I had problems with a XXX10.
Now you can get a driver with the impedance you need. Blessing in disguise?? [ March 04, 2005, 09:07 AM: Message edited by: Gilligans Hitch ] |
^ I think so !

Given the condition of the woofer and the obvious shipping issue, I would think RE would not want the expense of shipping a dead woofer from India to HQ.

RE has a reputation to protect, give them an Email, Im sure they will be glad to help you

RE is great to deal with but really it is not there fault, once FED EX picks it up it is then there responsibilty to make sure it gets there safely, and if you sign for it you said that it was good enough for you and then FED EX is now free and clear from a legal standpoint. I have been down that road before. I am sure that if you talk to them they will do what they can for you, but I would not expect a freebie, The shipping alone is almost the same cost as the sub. But I know they will do what they can.

RE has excellent customer service but like Chris stated it is a FEDEX issue.

I would think (and hope) RE has the sense to ship their gear with insurance...
