The most ignorant customers ever!!!!!
So i figured i would start a new thread that everyone here would be familiar with, customers who believe that any problem they have with their vehicle from the moment you install a stereo, remote starter, alarm or anything aftermarket, was caused by you!!!!! I'll start, cust. comes in 6 months after i install an alarm, basic viper in a suzuki swift, one hour job tops and tells me her horn stoped working, you might think i taped into her horn for horn honk, but like i said very basic viper 310, so i didn't evon go near the harness that contains the horn wire. But i took the time to show said customer the install and all the wires that i soldered and taped oh so nicely. Customer then demands i take it out free of charge because the suzuki dealership will not fix the horn with the alarm in. Oh and did i mention that the dealership told the customer it was the fault of the alarm that caused her horn to all of the sudden stop working. So none the less i tell customer that i have spent three hours on her vehicle for a problem that was not caused by me, and if she wanted the alarm removed she would have topay at least $25 for the removal and also have to pay to have it reinstalled. To make a long story not quite so long i ended up being told by my manager to remove it for free and i would be reinstalling it for free when the customer comes back. Oh by the way after i removed the alarm, her horn still didn't work. I hope suzuki screws her for fixing her horn!!!!!!!

Sad, for the record I would have charged her at least $55 just for being a female dog.

Dealerships always try that crap, that's the first thing they always say, oh you have an aftermarket alarm that's why you are having an issue.

That is when you get on the phone with the service guy and ask him for their billing information so that after the work is complete and the problem is still there, they are on the hook for the bill. I had a customer just today come in (actually towed in) with her 98 GMC pu that someone in Vancouver installed a RS / keyless in. Her car would not start with the key or remote. Obvious problem to me but 3 shops in town would not touch it (all stealerships). One tried a new battery in a remote to be fair. Simple, unplug the brain and it starts, how about that. Failure in the brain for the starter kill circuit and parklight circuit (which is why her lights were on all the time). 30 seconds and the problem was solved. This industry is literally full of morons. The shops work (Illusions I beleive) was great, wires soldered and taped properly, so definitely not install related, it was just a cheap no name POS that needed to be put out to pasture.
Who is pissing me off lately, twistedsickness who is prying all the pro's for info on why his system sounds like shat and then wants to go to the US and buy everything. See you later A$$HAT. Man that pisses me off. |
I too find it frustrating that a mechanic (especially a dealer mechanic) can have such control and exhibit such amazingly poor customer service in situations like this. Lets see... you spent $199 for the alarm and $35000 for the car. Who should be kissing ass here??
We had one on Saturday - dude had an FM mod changer put in and now, weeks later, the honk on his factory keyless does not work. Of course he was more than sure that it wasn't accidentally disabled and for sure something we did. We sent him to the dealer :p |
Local Pontiac dealer here hates RS.
Just removed another starter for free, 'cause he's having power steering issues, and the dealer is telling him that the BCM is being affected by the RS....of course it starts fine and all. WTF.....since when is power steering failure a BCM related issue? (06 pusuit by the way) Good customer tho, and every time I have to do this for that dealer, I gain appreciation, and they lose.....the long slow approach maybe, but hey....every few years they'll be buying a new vehicle, and where do you think they'll shop? hehehe so I don't even think of trying to charge....I just do it. |

I've had a couple of manual trans ones if you turn the key off too soon when doing ready mode you get a power steering failure come up on the driver info screeen, but it's only until you start the car again. |

You go figure it out" ... I think we need to ban him :stroke: |
