Has anyone ever attempted to mount the tweeters of their component system besides the midrange speaker in the stock speaker location in the front doors of a car(specifically a 95-99 maxima)? Any imaging issues? I was thinking of creating a custom plate where my stock speaker location is, and mounting the tweeters such that they swivel out of the panel on their own angle to help imaging. Any comments highly welcomed.

I have my Pioneer components set in the factory location on the doors. I put the tweeter just a little forward and above the mids. I had to drill a hole but it has been worth it, supposedly placing the tweet within a foot of the mids is the best for imaging. I am however, not an expert. http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/brangwyn/Door01.jpg http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/brangwyn/Door02.jpg http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/brangwyn/Door03.jpg

Yes you are suppose to put the tweeter right beside the speaker for best imaging. This is for the balance between the speaker and tweeter.
