MTX Sledgehammer slh1204
Anyone have any comments on the sledgehammer's? Can't find any reviews anywhere or any posts on them. would want 1 12" in my trunk (01 grand prix) or is there any better bang for the buck.

*shrugs* Nobody has ran or heard anything on the MTX SLH-MZS1204 aka Sledgehammer, I recently purchased a Infinity 1230 package sinlge 12" and not really satisfied with it, was thinkin about getting a single 12" mtx sledge for now, maybe 2 in the future.

get a type R

Agree'd, 1 x 12" type-r you'll be happy for awhile.

Cant go wrong with a Kicker CVR 12" IMO better then the Type R's

The 8500, aka Sledhammer, series are a really nice woofer. I am sure you will be more than happy with them.

what about a single 12" kicker l5 or l7, would that do wonder in a sedan. I'v heard an older Alpine type R in a friends cougar seems to bottom out or something, might just be the wear and tear. plus his trunk rattles or whatever on top of it. My trunk is already matted so it shouldn't rattle. been lookin around online and see alot of good deals on the kicker l5 and l7's, never really heard any of kickers stuff before though. So think a newer type R would be a better sub in durabillity, lows, then a kicker L7, note that either would be just a single 12" and in a 01 grand prix se.

An L7 should generally eat a TypeR for lunch. If you want Kicker, I would for sure look at an L7 12. Really impressive woofer.

The MTX Sledgehammer gear packs a nice punch with a high price tag though.
I'm very happy with my type R's. I have never seen anything kicker that was worth a damn.
