Is my deck overheating?

So....lately, as of a while ago, but very infrequentyly i've had some issues. If i do a lotta driving around, like a couple hours worth, listening at various volumes, sometimes my max (25 of 35 on the deck), overall possible loudest with correct gains n what not....sometimes just at like medium it'll be 100% fine, then just all of a sudden cut out. Being that it's only happens a total of 3 times, i've got semi limited knowledge. What i do know, is i don't think shutting off and turning on the car worked. There was no intermittentness, but if i turned off the vehicle and came back the next day it would be like nothing happened.

Now the internal amp for my deck is turned off, so it just uses the 3 preouts to my 2 amps. They stay on full time. I can see the deck is still playing, i simply get no volume what soever. It's wayyyyyy too consistant to be a bad connection or something like that. Doesn't appear to be a voltage issue to the amps as they're fine when tested. Any other ideas of what it could be? Can the deck just overheat like that? Is that common?

Did you run full time power to it directly from the battery?

someone else installed it for me. But i'm gonna say unlikely as i don't see anything extra coming from the battery apart from what i've put there.

You think it could run for an hour or two at full volume or near full volume and then mysterously cut out volume due to a lack of power?
