For my Hummer H3

I want to add some more punch in my Hummer H3. I just sold my 95 Hummer and really miss the sound from my 10's. The H3 has the monsoon system but after I changed the head unit most of the sub-bass was gone. The Kenwwod unit sends highpass signals to the front and rear and has a seperate rca for sub out.
Here's my choices:
1. Replace the dual voice coil 8" used in the monsoon system
2. Make a box to house 2 10" in the cargo area. This would be powered by a fosgate 200a4 I have. The only issue is I need very shallow speakers like a 3" mounting depth to keep the box thin. Which are a good pair to get?

What do you guys think?

i think pioneer has some pretty small shallow mount subs. i think they're exactly 3''. TS-SW1001S2|S4 is the model. i think the actual mounting depth is like 2-7/8'' inches or something like that

I'll have a look.

I still have my JL Audio 10",but the mounting depth is around 4". So if I made another box it would make the cargo floor even higher than it is.

Kenwoods new flat series of subs are better than th pioneers in terms of SQ by a long shot and almost as good as the JL's but are alot chaper.

Do you mean the tailgate door where the jack is?

he sure does, it's a pretty convenient place to build out a fiberglass enclosure in terms pf space savings...and it's cool.

I may end up doing that when it gets warmer. Found a good post on one of the hummer forums with lots of pics. Just need MDF and fibreglass to make the enclosure. This week is kinda warm so I may try to add an amp in the back so I can try out some subs. I also think that maybe finding a decent 8" to replace the OEM one would be a good option.

Sorry I can't find where I saw it now but I do have a few pics of it. Looks like 2 8" subs in there.
