Hello all, I don't know if I should be posting this here, but here goes. Name is sean, and I just got reffered to this site from a guy over at saskmotorclub.com. Im from saskatchewan, and I drive a 2003 cavalier. Stereo consists of an alpine cda 9835 (in a day or two when it gets in) a pair of alpine R components in kickpanels, 2 alpine 5 1/4's in the doors, and 2 alpine type R's powered by a pair of Alpines M500's.
Im planning on going to mobile dynamics in toronto in the fall, since car audio, and customization are a big passion for me. Im soon looking at upgrading my subs, pretty much as fast as I can sell my old ones. ..So thats my story, Im the newest n00b.

Welcome to our little board.
You will find lots of useful info, as well as the usual drama lol.
Sounds like you got a nice system there too!

By the way primitive what type of subs are you looking into upgrading to? Or have you thought that far ahead yet?

the re xxx's will get loud at any note. You might be mistaken with the mt's. Which are geared more towards an spl purpose. The xxx's are more like a jl w 7 or mtx 9500 or something liek that. You'd better look into more power than those mrd 500m's to run a pair of xxx's. I'd run one mrd m-500 per coil if i was you on a xxx twelve. Unless its a quad coil triple x.

You can pretty much do anything in those massive caverns GM calls trunks in our vehicles .

A pair of XXX 12's would be really nice with a BX1500 on each. It will all come down to how much trunk you want to keep if any.

There's a few interesting subs coming out in the near future also so you may have some nice new choices also .
