Was my recent purchase a bad purchase?

Ahhh, I can't stop wondering if I made a mistake, when I talk to people some say no no man you did great, then others roll thier eyes and ask wtf I was thinking...

So it goes like this...

I recently purchased a package deal from futureshop, it was 2 10" RF P110S4's in a bassworx box (boooo bassworx stinks, I know im going to build my own box soon). Now I need to ask a few questions for those who have used RF, or even heard them.

I usually listen to alot of R&B, Rap, Hip-Hop, some Techno, and Classic rock, now will these subs be able to perform well for these types of music? Especially for the rock, I enjoy hearing the kicker drum, and hearing each drum in action, now with theses p1's am I going to run into Muddy Sounds or distorition?

Also, what sort of things should I look at for building an enclosure or buying a RF enclouser, do I want ported or non ported, and are there any predefined sketch's on the internet I can follow?

Which brings me to my next question, what amp should I use with these subs, I am looking to hopefully buy used instead of brand new, but am I looking for 2 channel, or mono? (I am not fimilar with amps at all) and do I only purchase it to run 4oms x 2 300 watts rms (then whatever is max watts)?

All in all this is my starter system the first one I will own, now I drive a Hyundai Accent GS which for those who don't know is a hatchback, but I am worried that I did not make the right purchase, or that I should have looked at something different.

For those of you that could help me, that would be great, as for I know really nothing about car audio.

Thanks.

Jay

THe P1 10 is an alright woofer - comparable to pretty much any other woofer at that price point.

Personally, I would choose a vented box, either follow the plans in the owner's manual for the woofer or if you want a decent box for ok bux, buy a SledgeHammer box.

Your best watt/$$ amp will likely be a Class D monoblock - look for one that is 400-500rms at 2ohms.

i had a single P110S4 before..n i loved it..but didn't luv it too much so i returned it..the box i had used was also a bassworx..but the was the slot port design one..i loved it...i kept it and stuck a DD1010 in there...wow..i'm impressed..maybe try getting the dual 10" slot port and see how that works...anyways ..i have a class D coustic(made by mitek) , 401D if you're interested..pm me for details...2ohm stable...

Would it be a better idea to just return the two RF p1's I just bought, and instead buy two 10" Boston Competitors?
