^Dave just wants to capitalize by trying to be the only one to get free stuff and break it.

Just by reading this thread I am excited for the folks in Canada. I think you all are right on the money and only through your efforts will the completion make a come-back. Look at the malaise on other forums, I just do not see the resolve and the enthusiasm that I do here. We have all been weathering a little economic downtrend and some portions of industry will be faster than others to recover. As long as these are your deeds as well as your words you have a bright future indeed.

2 things
First- I have finally been given the American flag (no doubt due to a comment on Canadian Hockey in the Word Jr. thread) I liked being a Hoser and was looking forward to McKenzie but the red white and blue is good stuff too

Second- The internet is bad for the local dealers who get relegated to spending time and effort allowing you to compare and contrast components only to have the customer buy the product on the internet. I do not think that is cricket.

I spent $800 last year to hold an IASCA comp for 5 out of town competitors and I would like to thank them for coming by holding another one this year. except there is going to be a much bigger turnout this year ;)

I'll be there. Dereck let's not forget that those recording are pourly recorded, compressed up the ass, and then compressed into ****ty sounded mp3's that 14 yr olds like Obsession illegally download, burn and doesn't know the difference. I can't stand how todays music is compressed. Is it too much to ask for the quiet part to be quiet, so the loud part actually seems loud. I think when a cd is loud all the way through I just keep turning it up more and more and then when I arrive to my distination my ears are ringing like a mother****er.

Thanks for reminding me to run another story on compressed music, and how bad it sounds to people who are serious about their music.

My original article said that, for the average listener, they worked darn well. When I did the test, I didn't have adequate quality equipment to really dig deep into the subtleties of the differences.. I'll revisit that, if the opportunity allows.

And as for blowing things up, I really try and refrain from that.. BUT, I am going to return to testing for maximum SPL, so the smoke should be flying again soon. Poor subwoofers..

John - allow me to be the poo-pooer

This kind of talk happens every Jan-March and then as summer rolls around all these excited souls (different ones each year) realize they cannot complete their car or their enthusiasm is gone. What's further, while there are some outstanding retailers that thankfully host a show or shows, the rest still flounder in their own wailing about declining business and ignore the opportunity hosting a show or shows presents.

Last year I publicly challenged all Canadian Car Audio Distributors for ONE of them to DARE to promote even ONE single show. Never happened...

Now at this point, I invite all the currently excited people to trash me like last year...
