My Winter System Install
 

Well, took about a month and a half of weekends this winter
-20 degree days and a tiny garage but I got done most of my install.

Sound deadened the whole car with Queit Coat paint on sound deadener. Started by building a support in the spare well, and then built a new floor for the trunk. Then added the face for the box and amps.

Here's some pics of the custom trunk.. will add a bunch showing the whole process tomorrow.

Please don't mind the carpet coming off on one of the ports haha.. and there will be another face on the top closing everything off, and spacers but under the amps to boost them up and get rid of the gap ..just too tired to do anymore at this point. Please give me some feedback this is my first install ever.

looks good bud. kinda wish my van wasnt a familly vehicle hahahha i would love to give up my trunk for a sexy install

Thank a lot its only my first install.. Hopefully I'll be able to do something better in the near future, so that I can at least have some trunk space. Bigger amp on the way so I will have to be modifying it soon anyways

So how does it sound?

Sounds pretty decent. Everything is running off of a Eclipse AVN5435. Switching back to my old clarion single din though, I think it has a better sound to it. I've got decent 6x9's (JBL p953) right now but I'm yet to install my front stage. Can't figure out how to get past the factory amplifier. If anyone knows how to install front speakers on a 98 camry XLE, please share.

run a new wire from the deck to the speakers lol. but really to bypass it you have to find the amp and tap in the front of it and connect the wires to the output of the amp

I want my car to look like that one day ... flush so that I can still throw things in my trunk if need be ...
Seems like it'd be a pain to steal as well (at least I think).

What are you driving anyways, a Grand Am or something? Looks like some U.S. vehicle (since the trunk looks similar to my Alero)

Its a Toyota Camry, thanks for the feedback. The trunk is actually HUGE. but my box is so big it makes it look small. In the summer I'm going to try and make everything flush so I can throw stuff in there. Also trying to come up with a way to have easier access to tuning my amps instead of unscrewing the cover haha..

I'm curious to see pictures along the way like you mentioned in your original post ...
What was the reasoning for redoing the floor? To work with everything that you've got or was that some sort of support for the system itself?

Curious about that sound deadening paint as well, as in what are your feelings about it, after having applied it.
