Question Need amp options for Kicker CVX's

I just bought two Kicker CVX12's, and I need some more power to run them. My little amp that I have for my older CVR12 won't do them any justice. I'm kind of a noob at figuring out how to properly wire amp to subs to maintain the best efficiency and power output. Beforehand, I just slapped together whatever and didn't care b/c it sounded alright.

Anywayz, I'm trying to figure out the right amp for these subs to get the most bang out of them. I'm wondering if it's better to go with two monoblocks around 700 - 800RMS or one 2-channel amp upwards of 1500RMS. Is it better to go with monoblock class D amps? Because they're only going to be used for subs, never any speakers?

From my understanding two DVC 2ohm will be wired together to create a 2ohm load. Is this correct?

The subs are DVC 2ohm, 750RMS/1500MAX

Any input is appreciated. Thx.

You are corect with the wiring assumption. A class D monoblock that can produce 1500w rms into 2 ohm is the ideal amp. Macrom makes a killer amp that would do this job. Pioneer also has a nice fat mono amp that is on sale right now as well. The Premiere PRS-D5000SPL also makes 1500w rms minimum into 2 ohms. It has proven to be a rock solid amp that exceeds it's rated power as well. Drop me a PM for more info if these interest you.
