Need A Heads Up For PHOENIX GOLD

hey,
im from edmonton and i am planning to buy a full sound system in a couple weeks here.i want it to be ALL phoenix gold(except the deck of course).i have decided on 2 /PG titanium 10'' subs and speakers and components and amp i will choose as i go(i know these subs are older but i want them,if you guys think i wont be able to get them, what PG sub would ya'll reccomend?)..but the problem is,i am not sure where to go buy PG stuff..does anybody know where i can buy PG in edmonton??,if not what are some of the best car audio online stores that may carry PG and that i can trust??

thanks.

I'm not sure why you are dead set on PG equipment but if its what you prefer :dunno: .

One place to buy PG is Urban Audio Video in West Edmonton Mall (near the ice rink when you are heading from Bourbon Street if I remember correctly). Also on Argyl Trail, between 75th street and 99th street there is an audio video place on the north side of the road that should sell PG.

Any ex international stereo outlet (as the 2 mentioned above) should carry PG as they are still run exactly the same with the same staff (as far as I can tell). The staff are still pushy and don't know much at all. All they will do is tell you "this is definitely what you need". If you are going to shop there, do your research and decide what you want/need before you go. Also try to bargain with them as they will deal with you a little bit (they did for my brother).

Sorry to anyone on this forum who may work/has worked for international stereo. I have had nothing but annoyances with them and for that reason have refused to buy anything from them for quite some time.

You may also want to check out Exile audio as they were designed by some of the same engineers as PG.

thanks alot for tellin me where the stores are dude...whats wrong with PG?i am leaning towards PG because they are know to be reliable and i have heard good things for many years,do you know some cons that i wouldnt know?lemme hear em.this will be my 1st system,i have a 92 honda accordLX and i am looking to spend around 1200-1400$ for a FULL system,do you have any suggestions on what to get other than PG? i am open to suggestions from everyone.

thanks!

Reliability has been a sore spot for PG for years now. And except for the Ti Elite products they really haven't had much to offer as the other lines have been full of mediocre products that can't compete with one's in the same price point from other companies.
Titanium series subs can be had for cheap these days because they are quite "average" and unless you're getting them for $35 each on Ebay a better driver can be had for what any dealer is going to sell them at. Immediate competition at their price point would be the Alpine Type R and the Kicker CompVR which are both much better performing drivers.

If that doesn't explain PG's reliability???

In the 90's PG made some really really nice high end stuff. Now they're living off the name they made years ago in my opinion.

I used to have some PG before it was stolen. Old school stuff was great. If you are looking for a more 'personal' approach, Lasertech Audio in Leduc sold PG last time I was there...
