need help
hello i have a 2006 dodge durango with the factory alpine system and i bought a double din to install but i also have a factory roof mount dvd player that i want to work with my new deck how can i do that and can it be done thanks.

Does the factory roof mount unit have a audio video input? If it does you will need to disassemble the unit and solder into the video input lines and attach it to the video output line from the Alpine. If it does not have a av input, you will need to find the video input from the dvd unit and splice into it at that point. Generally this is not the kind of thing for a DIY person with limited tools and abilities to try and do. If you feel up to the challenge and the risk, then go for it. For the record though, this is one thing that I recommend a shop do for you.

yes it does have the video audio input is there anywhere i can find a wireing diagram for my suv system? thanks for your reply

Center pin of the rca is +, outside is shield. You will need to remove the overhead unit from the car and work on it on a bench. If you have access to the backside of the rca av inputs on the overhead this will be a very simple task to do.

thanks alot for you info if i do this will it still play dvd's from the roof mount one or only dvds from my new deck because a ll i really want is the sound to work throught my speakers because i dont have the earphones anymore? And do i also need to find a different power source to power up the factory dvd player because im removing the factory deck. Thanks again

This will only allow you to use the front dvd unit as a source to drive the overhead monitor. It will not allow it to operate in reverse. It is far more complicated to work it in reverse.

even if i just want just the audio to play through the door speakers.thanks again
