Hey,
I have a 2000 infiniti Qx4 and i tried calling different places to get my alt upgraded and they all told me that the max they can do is 130amp
then I decided to go buy a decent cap. so Would 40 farad be enough to stop the dimming of my headlights? I have about 2000 watts rms running. I have a stock battery, well its a new battery but no designed for car audio like the yellow tops. I have done the big 3.
so would 20 farads be enough or should I go for 40 farads?

The cap would be a series waste of money... get a high performance battery...

You need to talk to a specialty alt shop for the larger alt... one may be made for your vehicle that the shops you talked to can't get... or you need to go with something else and have your alts mounting bracket moddified to accept it....

Ive called a ton of places and they all have alt for every other car but my qx4. I mean a cap cannot be a complete waste of money?

Yeah, i agree with Haunz, upgrade your battery before caps and/or alt. What size wire are you running? What amps?
