need help finding some new door speakers

need help finding some new door speakers

i have a 96 sunfire gt (2 door), i just found out there is only 2 speakers in the whole car, and their old, i want to get new speakers for each side of the doors, thats all, what kind of speakers do i want if im only going to have 2 in the two doors? and do i need a new deck to support them or not?

factory sizes are 4x6 in the doors and 6x9 in the rears.
you could probibly fit 5.25" in there though with a little work or bigger if you did some custom work. your factory deck will work fine but you will either want a new deck or some amp power to get them to full potential.

full range, thats the only way to go
pioneer makes a good entry level oem replacement 4x6's that work great from factory deck power

Factory is indeed a 4x6" driver. It is not very difficult at all to make a 6.5" driver fit right in. There are adapters you can buy but a piece of MDF and some work is a much better piece as the adapters are cheap plastic pieces.

I would recommend going the 6.5" route. Driver depth is going to be a bit of an issue but there are plenty of fantastic drivers that will fit.
