!!need help picking out an amp for my subs!!

Hey everyone, my name is Robert, i live in Arizona, and i need help picking out an amp for the subs i want to put into my 2002 chevy camaro?

I want to put Two 10in Kicker Solo-Baric L7's in the trunk. Each sub. puts out 1200 WATTS PEAK/600 RMS. The impedance (OHMS) is 2 or 4 DVC. Sensitivity is (dB 1w/1m) 86.8. And Frequency Response is (Hz) 24-100.

I don't want to max them out because i don't want to blow them i just want to get the best sound out of them without blowing them.

I'm gonna be hooking up a Kenwood receiver, also, 4 Hertz speakers connected to a 400.1 4-channel kicker amp.

I also want to know what's a good capacitor to get and if i should hook up an audio battery with the sound system?

Find yourself a decent 1000w mono ClassD amp (Kicker must make one) for the subs and you should be set. Forget the cap and only add another battery if you want to listen with the engine turned off.

I wouldn't be worried about thermal failure on L7's; you could probably run 1500w RMS to each no problem..

^ 1500rms to each poses two problems. One, that is more than enough power to seriously hurt those drivers if one isn't careful. Two, that's too much power for the car without serious electrical upgrades.

1000watts is a tonne of power. Unless you are trying to put up numbers, it should be more than enough to impress your buddies and keep you smiling.

Agree with dukk
What's your budget for an amp? I'd suggest a hertz HDP1 does 1000@1ohm rms and is super small will fit under a seat since its going in a camaro. They are as small as the JL HD amps and produce great power in a small chasis.
600$ should get you one no problem.
Or check out the audison lrx 1.1k that will do about 1100@1ohm - 650$ word class built and incredible SQ
Amp search - OVER

When I said 'you', I didn't mean him per se; just that the drivers are no pushovers to power and was simply addressing this:

Personally I would not put less than 1200w to the set if I could afford the wattage and if my electrical could handle it. and if that was not the case, I would go with different subs that I could actually get the most out of.

What about a Kicker ZX1000.1 amp?

Ill take it you didn't read a word I said by this post..

Forget kicker and go with something of much better build quality and sound.

JohnnyRock1588, sorry i read ur post, i looked up that hertz amp, and i looked up the hertz one i have, and i have the HERTZ EP1D, and it puts out 1000RMS@1 OHM i guess, but idk how to set it to 1 ohm, how do u do that?

You get two subs that are 4ohm dual voice coil. Wire all four coils in parallel.
