Need help with Sony head unit!

Hey guys, this is my first post on here and I'm not really sure where exactly to put this post. I'll begin with how my Sony CDX-GT260MP head unit was installed. The head-unit itself was installed through a process I found on YouTube. The link is below. I followed all the instructions and the head-unit seems to work fine other than one issue. When I play a CD, my sub kicks like it's suppose to. I have a Pioneer 800W 2 channel bridgeable Amp and it works fine too as well as my JL subwoofer. MY PROBLEM IS, is that whenever I play audio through the AUX cable plugged into the head-unit, it doesn't sound good through the speakers and my sub doesn't kick at all (ex: it sounds like a low-quality YouTube video/song). Furthermore, the only problem I am having with this is that whenever I play music through the aux cable the subwoofer isn't working.

Please, if you have any tips, suggestions, or comments let me know!

Thank you all in advance for your time!

Honestly, I've never liked aux cable inputs. I have three cars with three head units. I always use USB. The aux sounds copied and cheap. Not horrible, but definitely NOT like playing a CD, iphone or USB. Not a pro like these guys here, but when you think about it logically, a CD, dvd or USB is data that the head unit reads, while aux is just a signal coming through. That's my guess... but again, by experience, none of the head units I've owned gave me the sound quality of a disc or USB.

you know that your amp/sub work because it works with the radio and CDs. this means that its either your audio source or the head unit itself.

that previous post is true as well. the aux input is analog. you will get a better signal through USB or even bluetooth.

So first thing to do is check the quality of sound that you have recorded. a crappy quality recording will sound bad no matter how nice the stereo is. if thats ok, then its your head unit that is not processing the aux signal very well. Ive never been a Sony fan, but that doesnt sound normal for an aux in port to degrade the sound quality that bad.

you might also want to look and see if there is a setting for the aux in. read the manual and see if theres something that you are missing.

Ah I'm special. I figured out why it sounded so static-y and crappy. The damn aux cable wasn't plugged in all the way..... >:( sorry guys!
