I was qouted $999 for one back in 1996.
Mind you that shop was always a little pricey.

 

There is a shop out here that sold all of the Hifonics gear in the late 80's through the 90's, Diamond Stereo. If you don't mind making a phone call you could see if they have any info for you, although they moved locations quite a few years back, so it might be a long shot. 604-467-6644
