Alt was rewound by a shop that works on alt. The stereo is coming out next week anyhow. SPL in Nova Soctia is starting to suck the big one!!!!!!!!!! People with Wal-mart stereo's are going into SPL thinking that they are going to hit 180 db LOL. I was in class 6 for 3yr's & took 1st place each time. My stereo is all going to be SQ next year. So I will be doing all of the power & ground all over. So any info on power for SQ would be great. 1- 1800w amp and 1 a220 IT amp 2 -12" sub's ( all audiobahn) 3-VMA5894 5.8'' Clarion LCD'S. Front end will be MTX. That's what I will be starting off with. Any ideas on set up for SQ.

Well for SQ starters I've never heard a great SQ Audiobahn subbass driver.

Plus I would suggest getting a bigger amp than that a220 for a decent front soundstage.

what shows in nova scotia did you attend? id really like to see your setup as i can prolly help you with it, im also into a all sq setup myself. Ps by the way three years ago i had the loudest setup in nova scotia with a mtx rfl and 4 1501 d's on six batteries with a eclipse 8053 deck. All of this was in a VW golf and hit a 156.4 which was the loudest legal hit to date three years ago, yes it was on the old audio control mic. I know thats not loud compared to the rest of canada, but the box was built wrong the batteries were only used for a single burp and had to be recharged individually as it was the stock alternator charging through a isolator and it was my first attempt at spl, and there are several others out there topping the 148.9 mark, there is nick with two juggarnaut 15's pushing 154's and jason with two visonik's 12's pushing 152's (old mics again guys). If you want a hand let me know im more than wiling to help you with spl or start a new sq system i know some people here and can prolly get you into some nice alpine gear if you would like to start there.

Cool

All of the sound offs were at creative auto in truro. They have a 85 caprice wagon with all MTX. They hit 151.9 or 152.0 last year on the new mic's. The show's that I was at was 2- fall thunder show's & 10th anniversary show. The Alpine BMW X-5 was there that day. ( A very nice F@#$ing ride) Alpine's Dave Powers was there and we were taking about going all alpine to. He sold me the Alpine DVA-9860 head unit at a very very good price. He said go with 2-12" SWX-1242D subs 2-PDX 1.1000 mono amps. For the front end 1-PDX 2.150 amp and SPX 177R component to start off with. ( alot of $$$$ ) What show's were you at in N.S? I was going to go to Bridgewater but the car didn't want to go. I would like to have help doing a SQ set up for 2007 season. What do u think about the alpine set up that he was saying? Will try to get picture of my set up a.s.a.p.

Sure the Alpine system he drew out has the potential to sound good but the same level of performance (or more) can easily be had for much cheaper if you look around and research.

hey man i was at the old house of boom contests futureshop had, all atlantic car shows, pro sounds' shows, south shore speed and sound and creatives shows, i know kyle from there. The setup he reconmended is way over the top the two 12 inch x's and two pdx 1000.1 is way past excessive, i have one twelve inch type x on a 1000.1 and its tonnes of power, its enough to over power the focal utopias i have in the front which have a pdx 2.150 per mid and highs. and i also have focal rear fill which i turn on and off depending on if i want a great soundstage or just overall powerfull music which is when i want the extra sound the rears deliver. Overall though i am very happy with my alpine gear, but there are other options as well.....sadly not many of them are local....however i do know a nac dealer in halifax.

It just hit me today that I know your set up in the VW golf. The only thing I can say is that it is very nice. I'm gald that you and your friend's didn't show up for the show that day because u were in my class. I just won by .2 that day. But it would have been nice to see your system that day. I'm not to sure about nac. I never seen a full set up or heard a full set up. kyle was the one that help me with all of my audio.
