i was thinking about the crossfire vr600d.

but i cant find it on ebay, so maybe another one would be good, also, i would like to keep it below 200 bucks, i usually can find really good deals on ebay.

thanks

come on, anyone??

Benjammin108 May 10, 2004 04:21 PM

I am thinking of getting two Alpine MRP-M350

If I wire the subs down to 2ohms and hook an amp to each one, then that would work right? then each sub would be getting 350 RMS. They reccomend each one getting 300, but 50 more wont hurt anyone, will it?

does this sound like a good plan?

also, someone told me in order to get the subs down to 2ohms, i would have to run them in parallel and bridge the amp. is this true?

please, if someone can help me quick, i would like to go get these amps now. so, any help, is appreciated, thanks

ok, but that doesnt answer my question, can i do this with the amps/subs.

i dont know enough information about it to answer the question myself

ok first off are those subs dual or single voice coils and whatimpedance are they (ohms)

and what kind of power level are you hoping for .........

Derek Jerome May 10, 2004 08:07 PM

just did a quick search , you have dual 4 ohm coils so if you wire each sub's coils in parallel thet will be 2 ohms and an MRD350 on each sub as you mentioned would work fine, but I doubt you'l buy 2 for under 200 bucks

if you go for a single amp to power both you'll want one that makes the power you are looking for at either 4 or 1 ohm (you can wire the 2 subs together to those 2 impedances)

great thanks, that will work out just great. I appreciate it. Ordering one now and one on mon, when i get my paycheck! wire both subs to 2 and put one amp on each. thanks a lot

It may be cheaper to just purchase one larger amp to run both. Less wiring also.

One or two amps? That decision might hinge on the style of box you are using. If the subs share the same airspace then one amp might be the answer or the MRD-M301 X 2 which can be digitally coupled and essentially run as one amp (requires RUX-4280 or new CDA-9831/33/35 with amp link). If the subs are in individual air spaces then the MRP-M350 X 2 will work fine(assuming they are properly level matched). MRD-M301s are still a good idea, they allow you to time align each sub independantly (very benefical to maximize efficiency). Your budget will be the deciding factor. It's good to hear that you have stepped up your budget slightly although I always caution against internet purchases (might as well go to the pawn shop). Alpine does not sell to internet companies and will cut off any retailer which sells products this way.

hmm, ok, the subs have there own air space, i ordered this box to go with them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EBWN%3AIT&rd=1

I will however get two M350's to power them. i already have one, so i will stick with the original plan and just get another on monday.

thanks again
