Need opinion on system

Hey guys,

I am currently looking at buying 2 Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1224d's and powering it with a Power Acoustik BAMF-4000/1D. I just wanted to know some of your opinions on this and how you think it will run with a 12V set-up linked with a 3-Farad Capacitor. To me it looks like a good system, but some opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a feeling that that amp wont really push out 1200-1700w and a 3 farad cap would be a bit over kill as 1 farad covers 1000watts so at most I think a 2F would be good.

overall I think it would be a decent setup depending on the box you put the subs in.

I would buy the KFC-XW1222D's instead. They can be wired to present a 2 ohm final load which will give you some headroom. The amp will put out 1700 watts which will nicely power your subwoofers.

As far as the cap goes I wouldn't buy one at all. Do the big three first and if you still have problems then try using a 2 Farad cap.

Hey. I was thinking about the set up and figured that most of the testing must be done at 14.4V rather than the 12V i got in my car. So yeah, 1700WRMS on the amp and 1200WRMS on the subs doesn't sound too bad. I wanted to throw in a 2-farad cap, but found a super deal on a 3 farad cap that I couldn't pass up, but yeah, i understand the whole 1000RMS per 1 Farad thing. As far as the big three comes in I currently am looking at doing it as I do get some dimming off of my 600WRMS system. So yeah, it would be a good idea. Thanks.

Just wondering, what kind of power do you think a 1700WRMS@14.4V rated amp will produce at 12V?
