The guy who installed it for me told me they tapped into what he called the Audi Pre-Amp?

best bet to go somewhere else yet . Perhaps your guy is a better seal hunter then technicican ?

Its not his fault:

a) I shouldn't be putting the volume that loud in the first place

b) The stock speakers are **** and can only handle so much
