New age ideas VS old age pension

Unless you have unique #’s, coupon system or… you couldn’t show me any results from your ads in those magazines. You can tell about all the people who walked in your front door, I made 10 million dollars last year too.
Icon, people had sales here and bombed? Maybe you need to re think your strategy of your online campaigns and be a bit more aggressive instead of waiting for people to walk through your front door or email you. You never had a sale here (that i knew about) so i cant really reflect on how others did things.
Regardless, I am a firm believer in saturating the market; I just think the “old schoolers” need to get onboard with the online wave.

The quote is just to show where this discussion has come from..
Lets discuss new age ideas and then values/ what each of us can take from this.
The title is I'd like to hear some new ideas before I draw old age pension: thumbsup:

I warrant the merit of internet< but how can it be productive? I can build and maintain a website for the cost of what most sites charge( 75 a month at this site? not sure just thought I heard that?)

what’s do you guys have to say, kicker has saturated there market so much there now sponsoring dirt biking ect? good move bad one.. Different any way and hay who can argue with there sales?

on the note of kicker... they've almost completely abandoned their "team" of compeitors for the extreme sports sponsorships. This happened with mark eldridge, garry biggs and alma gates jumping ship all in one year.

I'm sure that they make more money advertising to young guys with disposable income than they do to enthusiasts who already have their gear and brand preferences.

^^ Not true at all.... Team Kicker had a pretty decent sized group at dbDrag world finals this year (Chris Norris being the most recognised name)

Sure, they went down in numbers for a season or two, but the team has changed hands and is now run by Tracey Focht instead of Jerimy Brown, so he's just starting to put his finger prints on it.

cross promotion

ie: a loong while back Harley Davidson did a cross promotion with the release of Blade 2 at future shop or best buy outlets i forget which

Everyone who bought the movie, got a ticket along with movie to log in online, fill out a questionnaire and be entered into a draw to win a bike for free

cross promotion is basically a term that made its way from the grocery business with the start of coupons over to other markets such as electronics and other accessories

another is myspace/youtube/cardomain

i've received numerous e-mails regarding how i should "look into" myspace advertising, promotions and perhaps we should be doing online videos for youtube, but in reality I have no idea how these "groupie" websites really work or what it takes to make them work. Since I don't know what I can expect and what my vulnerabilities are in this type of marketing vehicle I tend to shy away from it. Perhaps one day when we have enough time to properly research and gather some first hand experience with it we will venture into them. Forum based websites are somewhat of a better choice in my opinion, if you have manpower to be involved because you can control them better as they are smaller in size. Nothing worse than making a youtube flick to have someone rip it off to basterdize your product in it with video editing.

building and maintaining a website means nothing if you do not have visitors. You can build a website cart system for $40/month with yahoo or 70 with goecart and many many more.

Unless promotion is done on these sites, each will flunk, since there is no way for anyone to find out about them. Sure the cart system might say your website is SEO (search engine optimization) friendly, but that only means that you will be on the 30th page of google not the 150th for your keywords.

Adsense, Overture

more complex models, but in reality they can be compared to a signeage board that moves around on the internet...

CJ costs a ton to implement in design and tech costs but who knows what the benefits might be of everyone and their mother selling your product on the internet?

Whats the best? who knows...
