New Alpine KTX-100EQ Imprint Sound Manager

Well, I just got my hands on the new KTX-100EQ kit for setting up the Imprint with the CDA-9887. Looks good so far, I'll let people know what I think of it after setting up a few cars!

I just set up my car with the CDA-9887 using the KTX-100EQ and upon first impressions, I have to say I'm pretty impressed! Great sound stage, imaging & the clarity is amazing. My sub bass is also much more defined....no more boominess. For the price, I would say it's pretty hard to beat.

I have heard great things.....I will order one tommorow and give it a try.I just dont like that you cant have an imprint setting and a manual setting!

I didn't try it in other seats...I'll have to do that. I have an 02 Acura RSX, as for gear, I have Alpine Type-R 6.5" mid tweets up front (mids in doors, tweets up in dash in factory location) running off an Alpine MRV-F345, no rear speakers (don't believe in them), and two Type-R 12's running off an Alpine MRD-M605.

As for a manual setting, although I haven't tried tweaking it that way yet, I'm pretty sure you can have both. You would simply turn off the Multi EQ feature using the button on the front of the deck, and then set it up the way you want.

P.S. If anyone is going to try this unit, the manual says that two measurements are sufficient, I don't believe it is. Do all 6 measurements for best results.

So once you tune the system with the imprint you cant still change the 5 or 7 band eq or any other sound settings?

Yes, you can turn the MultiEQ off (Imprint settings) and tune it using the digital time alignment, EQ's and crossovers. It would be a great way to demo how great the Imprint technology is...listen to it with the manual tweaks, and then turn on the MultiEQ to show what it can do.
