type x only comes in dual 4, and you can not switch it from 2 to 4 to 8 unless you want to use only one voice coil then you could have 4 ohms.

with two type x s you couild get a final load of 1 or 4 ohms, so you would have
2 x 1100-Watts....RMS @ 2-Ohms.
or
1 x 2000-Watts....Bridged Mono @ 4-Ohms

why not buy a smaller amp that you could use to its full potencial and save money. unless you plan on upgradeing your subs later.

it would be perfect.

except you could spend less money and get the same perfectness.

with the colossus you would pay for watts that you wont be using

I'm pretty sure he'll be using every watt he can get out of it, when you factor box rise, voltage drops, and whatnot.

i mean he wont be able to get the full pottencial of the amp because his subs dont have the correct voice coil configuration.

how is that!?
DVC 4ohm...
bridge the amp to 1 channel and subs to 4 ohm or 2 ohm...
then get 3200watts @2ohm to 2 subs = 1600watts a sub...
or bridge subs at 4ohm and get 2000watts = 1000watts a sub...
now you tell me how i wont get full pottencial out of the amp!?
you can only go 4 ohms or 1 ohm. you are using two subs? you cant get a 2 ohm load with those two subs. unless you only hook up one coil on each sub. which would be dumb

you can get a 4 ohm load and then get 1000 watts to each speaker which would be fine. but that would not be using the amp to its full potencial.
