New car = new sub! But what kind?

Heres what im working with and what i want. I used to have a singlecab truck, but through insurance, i have a car now! yay. So my 2 shallow mounts are not cutting it. I would be leaning towards sq.... never to compete, but the cleaner sounding sub, the happier i am while driving down the road.

So the power i have right now is 600wrms @2ohms. Im not looking to upgrade that either.

So what i am looking for is a single subwoofer either 12 or 15 that is suited to that much power and will be clean. my budget is aiming for around 200 dollars, but i can go higher if theres a good deal to be had. I really dont want to pay MSRP, but id rather have new, so if a vendor has some of last years gear going cheap, let me know. If somone on here is using something that would fit my woofer search and is in ontario, let me know, let me have a listen and we will go from there.

LEts have it! any questions... just ask!

Thanks, Steve

Bro, seriously look at Clarion signature series subs. I absolutely love mine, got a good deal on them too. I compete in SQ and SPL and am doing rather well so far with them. I don't get out your way at all, but if you are going to be around T.O. let me know and you can have a listen. I have 2 x 10 with only 1100rms and have several trophies for both SQ and dbDrag using these.

I can get a ssw12 for 300 from a local shop, but i just wanna see what else i have for options before i get one. Its not a bad price on the sig series, but im sure theres a better deal to be had somewhere else...

I will snoop around for a price on a DD sub for you tomorrow.

Ill check if RD has any subs kicking around that are last years model, I know he is going to v.2 on many of his midrange subs. Are you looking for sealed or ported?

Skeedy 07-03-2009 11:38 AM

Preferably sealed.... i am tryingto be able to fit my bmx in there with one of the seats folded down aswell as the sub... I have some rough boxes drawn up that will permit that.... but they would get much bigger if i was to go ported.

So far i have
300 for display board model of clarion ssw1201
160 for pxw1252

Any word on the other options vendors?
