New to car audio
OK so I bought 2 12wov2 in a ported box. I drive a Dodge Charger by the way so I have a huge trunk. What would be a good amp to power these subs and a suggestion for a quality single din headunit would be appreciated. Oh and the subs are 4ohm.

If you want to stick with JL the 500/1V2 or the JX500/1 will do the job nicely. The 500/1 might be overkill but I like headroom.... Those 2 should be the high and low range of your budget....spend less and you won't get all the potential out of your subs.....any more power and you'll you'll be testing the warranty service....:D I like Kenwood Excelon decks myself....well built, lots of built-in tuning and tweaking options and they last....:smokin: Other fans of different brands will be along shortly with more options..... HTH |
Thanks for the advice BigRedGuy.
Im going to buy the 500/1v2 Found it online for 400. |
$400 for a 500/1 is pretty pricy - I have a T400-4 and a T1000-1 and they're phenomenal amps.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Rockford-Fosgate...item35b0e80685 Can be had for $200+Shipping Or if you want BNIB for an extra $20 + a little more on shipping hit up Sonic http://cgi.ebay.com/Rockford-Fosgate-T500-1bd-MonoBlock-Car-Amplifier-Amp-/300548353775?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item45fa13eeef |
XD600/1 would be my choice and keep it JL

have you had any experience with the xd 600/1?

They're probably 50% of the amps we sell. Never had an issue with one. Small, no heat, and lots of power.
