New to car audio, not sure if a friend's pricing is right?
Long story short, a friend of mine sold his 300M and bought himself an Infinity g35 coupe. Considering we're both 18, that's quite an upgrade. He also decided not to put his old system in the new car, deciding he's over the aftermarket stereos. I know nothing about car audio and resale prices really, so I didn't know where else to put this, but would you consider this setup to be worth $800? It's slightly used, not abused or anything.
2 Alpine Type R 12" Subs Alpine MRP-M500 Amplifier Viper 5900 Car Alarm Pioneer Avic N3 DVD/NAV Deck. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. What would you consider the used value of this setup to be? |
that is definitely a good price.
my 5900 was like 499$ retail that dvd deck was probably close to 1000$ at least 200$ for the amp subs 140$ a piece |
Thanks, another thing, will I need to get a more powerful amp? That one is 500w if i'm not mistaken, doesn't seem like alot for 2 12's.
|
its half of what those 2 12's needs
|
^true if there the newer type Rs, older ones are only rated at 300rms but can take more from what i hear
but judging from the amp/deck/alarm im guessing its the newer type Rs |
He just told me he goofed on the amp, it's an MRP-M850 instead of a 500. That changes the situation, right? The subs are 2ohm DVC if that helps.

^thats even a better deal now lol you should ask him if its teh newer or older type Rs

I will. If I put in type R speakers in the car, is Alpine a good brand for loudness, or will I want to change that?
