Smile New car ? Factory audio or aftermarket ?

Hi , Just wanted some advice.
I just bought a Honda Civic Dx-G and it comes with a shitty audio system. (160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with MP3/WindowsMedia® Audio playback capability and 4 speakers )
There is a upgrade available for like >500 bucks and I don't even know how good that is. (I think its just 2 more speakers and an amplifier.. Could be wrong.)

I know there's security devices on the car and well I do like the dash unit..

Would you recommend aftermarket upgrade ? I don't want to spend over 500-600 bucks but want at least 400 watts.. ) What would you recommend and perhaps who should do it ? I'm in Toronto area...

Thanks,
Michelle

I'm gonna go really simple with this.

Upgrade kit is poop.
Honda's head units are poop.
honda's speakers are poop.

You'll get a drastically noticable improvement with a name band entry level head unit and some decent speakers all around.

The new civics are pretty good platforms for a good sounding system, but what are you looking for. killer sound, just a good improvement.?

At my shop we like offering things in Stages so you can upgrade at any time, Start with the head unit and front speakers. Add an amp and sub if you want to go more from there it's easy.
