Replacing New GM Bose system

I'm buying a new Monte Carlo and installing a complete system

Is the GM Bose system worth anything? it has head unit, cd, 8 amplified speakers. It sounded pretty good in the showroom, but my I like my alpine better.

Any opinions appreciated.

Well you already kind of summed it up. Many factory 'premium' systems sound 'pretty good' to most people and they leave them that way.

IMO I could try to get a car without the Bose system as you are planning on replacing it anyway. If you DO get a Bose system, your best approach is to take it ALL out and put it in a box for when you sell the car. Generally a Bose system is a PITA to try to integrate aftermarket gear with and the results are usually half ass sound.

the fact that you are even on a board like this one tells me you probably won't be happy with factory sound. I totally agree with DUKK, replace it all.

Thanx for the replies. I've already got the system to replace it ALL. I'm still looking for the proper interfaces (and finding no help on here).
I was just looking for opinions on whether i should list the Bose system for sale?

Interfaces for what?? If you have a deck, amp and speakers you don't need any sort of interface....

You only get the help you ask for.. :eyes:

Interfaces for 06 GM

Hi Dukk,
In another thread i asked for recomendations, suggestion or opinions on interfaces for my new Monte Carlo.

PAC, has the steering wheel control interface for my Alpine. I'm buying that.

Now i need interfaces for On-Star, chimes (door/p-brake/lights) and power. In the GM, the power stays on so the chimes come through the radio.

Everywhere i've looked for this says they don't have anything for the 06 yet, it's a new platform.
I've tried PAC, Metra, Scosche and Soundgate.

The dash kit is another problem, this new GM radio is Curved, Metra said they have a kit that will fit, but its the same as the old one so i suspect it won't fit right.

I've sent an email to MAPtech, but no reply yet.

Any other ideas?

the mount you need is the metra 99-3305. As far as the harness you need I am not 100% sure but the GMRC05 from metra might be the right one.
