the amp under the back deck is not going to last

why did you go form blue to clear power wire ?

but i like that it is clean nice lay out but i would do something to the big amp

looks to me that the blue is his positive, and the white is his ground

i do not use that typ of cap

Will that amp stay cool upside down like that?? Looks good.

for a guy who doesn't seem to be that knowledgeable, you're making some big assumptions about my install.

I have run 2 guage positive and negative straight from the battery...blue is the positive, and silver is the negative.

ALL caps get positive and negative taken to them not just "that type"

and the amp up top is very secure, and does quite well. not sure why you dont think it'll last, but I'm pretty sure ypoui're blowin something out your arse.

the amp is held up by 4 2" long 1/4" hardened elevator bolts, it's not gonna go anywhere lol.

Nice clean install. One thing....did you say your ground cable came straight from the battery? The ground cable needs to be as short as possible from the cap and amps to a solid, paint free body ground to avoid picking up noise (preferably no longer than 12").

Also, I can't tell too well from the pics but, if the amp mounted to the underside of the rear deck is bolted directly to bare metal (no carpet), the deck will actually help dissipate heat from the amp, unless the amp is a class d amplifier. Don't see any problems with mounting it there.

LOOKIN GOOD MAN!!! I love it...Now I really really wish I woulda had more money for the concepts on wheels show today...(I can hear you sayin it already and Im tellin you to SHUSH!!!LOL)...I like it..I don't like the red paint on the grills..but I like it already...Good luck today

yes, it come straight from the battery... someone must have forgotten to tell you that the body ground in the trunk is only the equivalent of 4 guage wire, and since I ran 2 guage, I've obviously upgraded that .

the amp is in it's own secured mounting area made of MDF to smooth things out so it has a very solid mount, it is an AB class 4 channel amp which will never put out full power and hasn't even gotten warm in the few hours it's played so far.

I'm off to concepts now!

^ Personally, I'm not a fan of the long ground back to the battery. Dave Mac is though and we have debated it here a few times. The best solution if you want to be absolutely sure is to run a cable from your battery to the body, then from the body to the trunk where it attaches to the trunk floor, and then connect your amps to that same spot in the trunk. This way the amps have a short ground path and the car can use both the chassis and the upgraded ground cable. It's win win.

Many amps cannot handle being mounted upside down but it totally depends on the amp and the orientation the outputs are mounted to the heatsink. Some amps rely a lot on convection across the heatsink and mounting it upside down can compromise that. A simple fan can usually fix any heat problems though.

Buzz - I am curious why you feel a ClassD would not benefit from baremetal mounting?
