new kind of alarm? or garbage?

So i was looking around wall mart the other day and was looking at the garbage car audio they usually have and in the scosche products and found this. its a a scosche car alarm. its basically installable by anyone. consists of a mountable siren and connects to the battery and a wireless pressure sensor that also works as a shock sensor. the weird thing about the sensor is that it goes into a cigarette lighter outlet. now i know that having it in the open would be not the smartest but maybe putting another outlet in a hidden place might be alright. it also comes with two alarm remotes. just wondering if anyone knows about this stuff or what you think about it. picture quality sucks though lol and the magnet on the siren comes off and can be permanently mounted

Something about that doesn't seem right.

it probably works of voltage drop meaning when the door is open your doom light goes on thus droping the voltage and it most likely has a shock sensor in it but thats just a guess.

That thing looks amazing.

I don't like the "wall mart" part in it lol, as far as i know their stuff works for about a week or so, no matter what it is ....

With a 1000 watt amp in ur trunk go spend the extra cash and get a viper or compustar installed.

buy it and see if it will work. you can always return it if you are not satisfied with the receipt

any word on how it works so far?

jmac_thunder 04-27-2009 09:10 PM

it actually isnt all that bad so far, alarm goes off when opening the door or trunk and it can be set pretty sensitive for the shock sensor part, i had it set at high sensitivity and when my buddy shut his door parked while he was parked next to me and it set it off. well see how long it lasts. i wanted something easy to put in and if it did mess up i didnt want to have to rip it all out. it only cost me 75 bucks for this and as for my amp i got other means of it being harder to steal lol

just found out also that the cigarette sensor only needs to charge in the outlet , its fully functionally out of the car and can be hidden anywhere.
