New system sounds like crap. Whats the cause?
 

I have a Pioneer 4800 deck, a set of MTX TC6001 components, which are being powered by an Infinity 7541 amp. When I try to turn it up the clip light on the amp starts to blink. The speakers are rated at 90 watts but theres no way there getting anywhere close to that. My stock system before sounded louder. Also, they don't sound very good at all. I tried to change some settings on the headunit like turning on the "loud: MID" setting but then the amp started to clip even sooner. Is theres something wrong with the amp?

wasn't this asked by you already? The answers are still the same. If they didn't help, you need to go to a professional in your area and have them take a look at the system, there may be multiple problems.

The gain is set, But the speakers are not very loud. The only way They get loud is if I turn the volume all the way up but that leads to the clip light coming on the amp. Is it possible the amp is not putting out its rated power?

Something is wrong...that amp puts out 111 watts @ 4ohms and the speakers are rated to handle 90 watts rms....The combination should get uncomfortably loud if everything is set up properly and working correctly. If it's not loud, it needs to be inspected by a pro!

Do y7ou have all the stuff on your deck set right?
I would have to agree with the others if you don't know what your doing take it to a pro.
The last thing you need is to save 40 bucks and try to do it yourself and blow everything,Then it will cost you.

Actually a professional installed yet. He turned up the gain but he didn't do anything to measure the output and He also never set the headunit volume. Are there any settings on the amp that I should be changing. I noticed there was a "Freq" knob on the amp. That was not touched during the install. What should I do with that? Also, should I turn the bass boast all the way off?

go back to him and tell him exactly what you've told us. If he is a professional, then he'll do what's right and set the system up properly. Based on what you've told us, I'm a little skeptical about the "pro's" abilities, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and assume he was busy, or had other things on his mind. If he can't fix it, then you need to go elsewhere. There is a possibility that your equipment is defective, the intall is improper, and the tuning is incorrect. All those things need to be addressed in order to get your system sounding as it should.
