New Vehicle Equipment/Advice

Doing some new vehicle shopping. Looking at 2000-2005 blazers/jimmys, and of course with a new vehicle I have ideas swirling about a system for it.

So far I'm thinking:
Pioneer P800PRS HU + Ipod adapter
18" Ascendant Audio Havoc
Sundown Audio 1500D

My problem, which I always have, is picking a component set/amp combo. Probably want to spend a bit, between 500-700 for the combo. Looking for something that has smooth highs and good midbass, and can do its best to keep up with my 18 (obviously not going to be able to with sub full tilt, but at lower levels).

Please throw out some ideas, and feel free to comment on my choices to far.

You wont get much love on here for Sundown though I think they have some great amps.

There are some component sets that can keep up with an 18" at full tilt, but it will cost alot in both power and money.

Where abouts are you located?

I think a SAX100.4 with a DIY set would be a really good option for you....maybe Seas CA18RNX paired with a tweeter that works; would you want small or large format?

The other alternative is a SAX100.2 and maybe something like the PG RSD's. They're a very popular budget set.

jbl GTi's handle lots of power...150 watts rms, and get plenty loud. Powered with a 150-200 x2 amp, it should hold it's own, and sound good while doing so.

The JBL's sound like an idea. Do you have experience with them? I think I want to go with a complete component set (tweets, mids, and crossovers). I always heard good things about CDT, can any of their stuff meet what I'm looking for in my price range?
