what exactly are you looking for, you're car to be a vibrator or just some nice bass?
and from all the guys i've spoke to say that a 1farad cap is useless, the drain is too fast for what it holds, they say 3 and up. i've got a 6fd that goes down to 9v on long notes.
let me know cause i have some great used stuff for sale including a pair of new RE SR10's
I don't mind paying for the stuff if it's worth it.. WHen you say pricey though, do you mean overpriced in the quote or the stuff is just plain expensive period? I potentially have up to 2 grand to spend but the closer it is to $1k-1.5k, the happier I'd be.

I could spring for package #3 and whatever additions are needed if I have to.. Or if none of it sounds that great I'd like to hear that too!

I am looking to you all, the experts -- because I am just a novice in the subject

Well I am getting it primarily for really bassy dubstep and more importantly, one of my all time favorite genres, drum and bass. Both of them sound tacky and like pots and pans without a really good rumble of bass to go behind it, so I'm looking for something that's really gonna give nice deep bass. But am I looking for something that's going to win in some kind of car competition? God no. I just want quality if possible and trust the knowledgable members on the forum here, everyone has been very helpful and nice so far

I'd go so far as to put 1500 bucks in someones hand and say to do the sound as if it was your own vehicle and your own money.. and picking a good audio shop is probably a gamble in itself!

Thanks again folks!

2 x 10" RE SR10's in a ported box with a Kicker ZX1000.1
This set up bangs very nicely with great quality. All you'd need is an amp kit to install.
Let me know what you think.
