Newbie needs help on Amp and Speakers!

Just bought this amp used on eBay and wanted to ask a question about speakers that go with this amp.

http://www.mmxpress.com/alpine/alpine_mrv-f307.htm

I don’t know much about car audio and electronics and I want to know with the power that the amp I bought is putting out, am I only be able to use entry level components (like Alpine Type S) with it because it is not very powerful? How do I know if the components I am looking at is good for my amp in terms of being able to power them properly?

It depends what you are trying to accomplish. It's nice to have an amp that either matches or exceeds your speakers RMS capacity so that you get the most out of your speakers. But that being said it's not that cut and dry. The speakers sensitivity also comes into play. A speaker that is more sensitive will play louder with less power. Other factors to consider include the size of your vehicle interior, the ambient sound level in the vehicle and how loud you like to listen to your music.
With this amp I would probably bridge it to two channels and use it to power a component set. This would give you ample power. But that's just me...

There are a few 2 ohm component sets out there (Infinity and Image Dynamics for instance) if you are planning on running a 4 channel setup. You could also run a biamp on some component sets or go active.
