No sound out of rear speakers

1 Attachment(s)
I'm running my speakers from an amp. Quick overview of the setup is as follows:

Attachment 21946

Last week I noticed my volume was substantially lower than it usually is. In short -- No sound is coming out of the rear speakers. I installed a new headunit two weeks ago.

First thing I checked were the fuses. No problems here.

I switched the front and rear channels post amp at which point in time I had sound out of the rears but not front.
=> all 4 speakers are OK.
=> front preouts from HU are OK.
=> amp front channel is OK.

I swapped the front and rear channels pre-amp (after reverting previous change). Again sound out the rears but not front.
=> amp rear channel is OK.
=> logically, the problem must be in rear pre-outs from HU or wiring from those pre-outs to the amp.

Today I went back to the retailer I bought the HU from and got them to give me a new unit. I also purchased and installed new RCAs.

I connected everything and still no change. No sound from the rear speakers.

Out of frustration I swapped the amp and still get the same result.

So what I've deduced is the following:
All 4 speakers are operating normally.
The amp is not the problem.
The wiring is not the problem.
The Head Unit is not the problem.
wtf...

I don't know what my next step is. :S !?

Much thanks for any input/suggestions.

have you looket threw the manual to see if there is any options you may have mised like a fader or someting along thouse line i have a bunch of settings on my deck like concert and hall and sum of them cut out the rear fill also hook everything back up and swap the rcas at the deck frome front to back

WPGSMOSTWANTED 05-09-2009 08:00 PM

did you hook it all back up and switch the rca from front to back at the deck next would be to get out the volt meter and check out the amps make shure you have signal frome your deck then the end of your rca and so on it will take a wile but im shure yull find it

I would say 100% full blame on rear rca, possibly ran under a seat and passenger putting weight on it mushed it? run another one and see what happens.

Looks to me your diagram is 2 sets of rcas to a 4 channel amp right?

WPGSMOSTWANTED 05-10-2009 01:36 AM

Yes two sets of RCAs to the 4 channel with a preout on the 4 channel to the amp which powers the subs.

I switched out the RCAs with no luck.

Volt meter will be done tomorrow morning.
