noob question

hey guys im new to this thing and im not sure what the best way to hook em all up. I have 2 15 inch rockford fosgate punch dvc's and a phonenix gold 5 channel amp. The Subs are rated for 600W rms each and the amp is rated at 900W but 400W on the mono block channel. So um series or parallel? lol

Thanks

Parallel, definitely. You get more output from parallel, drops the impedance to 2 ohms. Just make sure that your amp can handle a 2ohm load stable.

Do the subs have dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm voice coils? Is the sub channel on your amp stable to 4, 2, or 1 ohm?

You must know both the voice coil arrangement of your subs, dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm AND the stability of your amplifiers sub channel (1, 2 or 4 ohm) before you can even think about wiring the subs to it. Post this information then we can make the proper call for you.

The specs say 2 ohm, so they are probably dual 4. Since your amp isn't stable at 1 ohm, you are limited to wiring them in series to show the amp a 4 ohm load. That will be ~75watts to each sub which isn't so great.

You'd probably be better off to just use one sub. Then it will see ~250watts.
