oddly shaped box

I need some help making my new box. I don't want it to be just a box, I want it to "fit" into the interior. Check the picture that I attached if you don't know what I am talking about. I figured I could make the box and have extensions on both sides that flow over the wheel wells. But I do not know how to trace the curve so that I can cut the wood right. I thought about using a thick piece of wire and bending it over the wheel well then tracing it onto the wood but i was wondering if there was any other way of tracing the curves.

use cardboard to make a template. or get that tool ( i dont know the name of it) that has a lot of pins which takes the shape of whatever you put it against.

Thumbs up

Unless you need the extra air space, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Build the box to fit between the wheel wells and use some 1/4", cut to fit against all those odd shaped curves, to make trim panels. Same goes for the amp rack, when you're done it should look like the picture, but a lot easier to build. The other bonus is you don't need to pull out your hair trying to figure out the volume of the "wings"...
