Old School Aline System in '97 Taurus Wagon
7 Attachment(s)
I will be building an Old School Aline System in my 97 Taurus Wagon
Here is the system I will be installing into my car and I am looking for recommendations on the bes way to build the sub box in the rear footwell below the rear facing seat (which is now removed). Attachment 25343 Head Unit - Alpine 7904 - to be mounted behind the factory football (am/fm/cassette) Attachment 25344 Front Amplifier - 3544 - for 5x8 and tweeters in the factory locations - speakers to be replaced. Attachment 25345 Rear Amplifier - 3548 - for 5x8 in the rear tailgate, to be replaced Attachment 25346 Sub Amplifier - 3545 will be powering 2 12" Apline Subs. Attachment 25347 Subswoofers - 2 X SWR 12 Attachment 25348 This is what the back seat of my wagon looks like. Attachment 25349 I have removed the upolstered seat back, as well as the upolserty and the foam from the seat bottom, leaving a metal tray. which I may just paint and use as an Amp Rack. I want to build a box in the footwell, that will be a sealed box for the 2 12" subs, and I am not sure the best way to calculate this space, to determine in a square box will be enough, or if I should be a hex box to fill in more of the footwell area. I am building the system for SQ, and the wagon is my daily driver as well. Here is a link to a system in a SHO Wagon that I will be doing something simmilar in my wagon http://www.klimesgroup.com/showagon/images/rclosed.jpg http://www.klimesgroup.com/showagon/images/ropen.jpg http://www.klimesgroup.com/showagon/images/well1.jpg Thumpers SHO Wagon Thanks Doug Morency |

Always good to see another old skool Alpine fan :smilie_da Installing one myself. And nice choice on amps. I have the predecessor to your 3544 150x2: the 3539. I have 2 in fact :) And it's always lovely to see a 3545 in use! I have two of those too ;) Good luck with your build. That SHOwagon install is beautifully clean and simple.

Stock Dash Attachment 25215 Radio Bezel Attachment 25216 I have to create a mount for the CD Player that will mount it to the top of the Ashtray Frame, right now it is just sitting in there. pics to follow But here is my Football converted to a faceplate. Front Attachment 25217 Back http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...o/DSCF0004.jpg Depth Attachment 25218 As you can see I still have the clips to hold it in place, so if your radio has a remote, you can just leave the face plate in place. I will be making a hinge for mine at a later date. I still drive the car every day and I need the heat to keep the wife amused on the way to and from work :) Doug |
I've seen a dash kit for those. Scosche or metra?
If you really want old school alpine, I have a 7559 for sale, alpines best ever cassette, with ainet for CD changers. 6 pre-outs @ 4V. 3 & 4 cars ago, i had some old alpine amps, can't remember model #'s but they worked well. One burnt out from heat under the seat. |

I love the id of the 6 pre outs, the 7904 only has a front and rear, so I have to find some way off hooking up the rear speakers in the tailgate. Doug |
