Hey guys

i'm a car builder that is new to audio. We run fast but im building my sons first ride. Got to get er ready for grad and I've been looking at systems but they have gone way beyond my scope . I want it to be a surprise , im sure 500 horse is going to lite his life a little but im looking for a good sound for the buck. I want to spend about 1500 canadian and end up with a respectable system , is this reasonable or do i have to put in a little o.t. im sure u can spend 30 000 and make it wow but i just want a little advice from those in the loop . Thanks guys , mke. Oh yea , the ride is a old Z28 with no rear seating so there is room for sound.

What year of Z28? $1500 is enough to get a nice enjoyable system that he can have some fun with.

A little OT might take the system to the next level. Invest once and do it properly. $1500 can get a good starter system. Just like rodding, what level of performance are you expecting.

Get a decent deck, pioneer is nice, 4 speakers and a 4 channel amp, and 1 or 2 12" subs with a nice amp....
You can build a budget system that sounds nice if you dont mind buying used, for about 2 g's i've got a banging system...
