Older Alpine decks

Which ones are better then others?
Something along the lines of like the 7839, 7844, 7845...etc.
I like how those models look and am just looking for something non flashy to put in my ride ( and that matches the green lighting of the interior).

I have a 7559 i could sell. It was alpines best cassette player and has Ai-Net CD controller. You have a choice of green or amber. 6 rca outputs, 4v, etc., etc.

How old? Tape or CD? I have a very good condition old school 7390 tape deck available.

LOL this is not a wtb post but I'm asking general opinions on these older units and how they are. And can these older units be able to do AUX in?

I have a 7930 dead head, and a 7941 also. I like the layout, controls, etc. Very logical, and nice to look at. Both models have sub level control, and the 7941 has BBE also. They seem to have a strong output on the RCA's, and overal clean SQ. One thing you should be aware of is that some of the older Alpines have trouble playing burnt cd's. As far as an AUX in goes, if it has the Ai-Net changer control, you should be able to get an adapter to run an AUX input into the changer port.

Yeah a lot of the older ones have the ai-net port, but in the manual it doesn't have anything regarding aux in (meaning there is no "aux in" seeting in the menus so how would it work?), only the newerish models state that (the newer 78** and up) which is why I was asking if the older ones would be able to do it as well.

I don't need an mp3 player in it, but my gf always wants to play her ipod while in the car which is why I would need the aux in...
Anyhoo thanks for the info, anyone else?
