one channel not working
anyone remember the rockford fosgate punch 150 HD??
i had that amp running my mids. good output, low distortion even at full volume. Anyways, the laft channel blew on me. i have a feeling that the positive speaker lead somehow touched the heatsink of the amp (don't ask how, i just saw the electrical tape unravelled exposing a little of the wire and it was bent close to the amp housing). The one channel still works. just wondering if the amp has internal fuses that can be replaced, or what is the most common component that can fail if a short occurs like the one i just had. like i said, the amp works fine ( in one channel. lol). It's too cold to start tearing my setup out in order to get to the amp, and i'm thinking that if i cannot fix this myself (i have worked on electronics in the past), then i'll just grab a 4 channel amp as a replacement.
now if i shouldn't bother and just get another amp then what 4 channel amp should i get that will have the same output and clarity for the mid range??
I don't wanna break the bank, i'd rather buy something used if anyones selling an amp. I'm pretty sure that any 4 x 75 watt amp out there will be a lot of money though. the hd at 2x75 did a good job.
Thanx
