One good sub, or 2 decent subs?

The L3 locked up in my car, sent it out to kicker for warranty, i didnt like the sound anyways so i wanted to go with a jl or something.

I have the choice of getting 1 w3, or 2 w0 subs.

the 12" w3 is 500rms, and the w0 are 125rms each. the guy at local shop said rock music, w3. house/hip-hop, get the 2 w0.

sound about right? which would you guys choose overall?

or should i suck it up and just use my warrantied l3, lol

all are gonna be powerd by an MRP500 amp

Figure out what size/type of box you want to use then pick the sub(s).

Jl is readily availiable new or use we have a big jl dealer locally, that and a kicker.

I would like to go ported, my car has a massive trunk so i have the room for it, as for budget, 150 for subs, i have a few amps and mdf to make boxxes.

You need to decide how much space you are willing to give up and then model both options for your best outcome in that space. If space is not an issue and you are interested in output, on similar total power, the pair of W0 will outperform the single W3.
