i only have 1 pre-out on my cd player. Its an alpine 9826 which is actually a great deck.

I am currently using one amp for my subs, but i want to add my other amps so i can power the other speakers in the car.

What do i need to i can run the other amps?

I know i need a distribution block for the power, but what do i do for the RCA cables?

thanks

RCA "Y" splitters. These are cables that take a single RCA line & divide it in two. Any local audio shop will have them.

You won't be able to use your fader but it will provide ouputs to your amps.

If your budget allows, you might also want to look into a dual amp balancer so that you can have a separate fader for your main speakers.

plug the output from your deck into the input of the D.A.B. run rca cables from the D.A.B. front and rear outputs to your amps...will allow you to fade between the two amps.

There are some other options also:

1-buy amps with pre amp outputs built in...You won't be able to fade though.

2-put an eq in, then you should have the three outputs on that (front, rear, sub).

3-dual amp balancer as above

and the best choice IMO:

Use the ai-net system with a nice Alpine eq/processor and then you won't have to run rca cables front to back...just the ai-net cable and maybe a din cable to the controller if you have one. The advantages are obvious, fewer wires, less noise, controlled from your deck, you have at least three outputs( depending on the model you have) and ofcourse you have an eq/processor to screw around with.

^^sorry that is if you put the brain unit in the rear close to your amps...you will still have to run three sets of rca cables(short ones) to each amp. IMO a much better set up than three very long rca cables from the front but it is more expensive ofcourse.

I suggest a 2/3 Way Electronic crossover with output level controls. I used a MTX 2 way for may years, will work well in your application.

i just bought a cheap alpine EQ. already had one set of RCA's run to the back, just used those as the input for the EQ and then 3 short RCA's for front/rear/sub. (that is if u put the eq in the back like I)
