Opinion on Power Acoustik Products
Hey all, this is my first post so here goes. Looking to upgrade my current sound system in my car. Currently have:
Clarion CD/MP3 deck 1 Clarion 400w amp 1 Pyramid 800w amp 2 MTX 10" Roadthunders in a bandpass box Factory Clarion front door speakers and tweeters. 6.5" i think Infinity Reference 6.5" rear speakers and tweeters. (Replaced the factory Clarion rears) So basically I am looking into replacing certain components like head unit, front door speakers, the 800w pyramid amp, and probably to a one or two 12" sub/s in a smaller box for more trunk space (current box is huge). I am looking at some of the Power Acoustik stuff and am wondering if anyone here has anything from them or tried their products from head units to component speakers and amps and subs and what their thoughts on those products are. Thanks, Andy |
As for amps, I've owned an a2400db and an a3000db and was pretty happy with both of them

The product is reliable and it is really a good bang for your buck product.

^^^ Agree with both.

I have a Power Acoustik OV1-5500D. She's rated for 3200 watts RMS at 1 ohm. It was very cheap on ebay, so I bought it. I was quoted from a local shop, a 1500 watt amp for approx. double what I paid in total for my amp. Even if the Power Acoustik is putting out half the rated power, it was still half of the price of the other amp.

thanks for the replies.
so power acoustik amps like my 800w pyramid and rockford fosgate amps don't put out power as advertised? if so i think i might stay away from those amps then. but also on the other hand i have read some good reviews about some PA amps, good bang for the buck they all say. but if they don't put out the power then what is the point really. what about their other component speakers, subs and head units Anyone? Thanks, Andy |
