So my current amp/sub set up just isnt doing it for me ne longer
im running dual 12 inch PG ZR12D4's... with a PG octane R 1500 watt amp
so ive decided to upgrade
ill be keeping my amp and also buying another one... the same
the options that i have are
4 type R 10 inch dual 2 ohm subs... which the amp's would power perfectly, in ported box's...
or
2 type R 10 inch dual 2 ohm subs in sealed boxes and a type R 15 inch 2 ohm sub, in a ported box
basically i want it to be nice and loud... but also faster hitting since i listen to metal on average
now..
am i just a tool and there is a way better way to go about this or what?
i can get the subs for around 500 and then the amp for around 260
so thats my budget

the two 10" and the 15" would be nice.
you could make it look nice and pretty, i would try to get a seperate amp for the two 10"...

to have the 10's and the 15 running of 2 amps...

I would agree, if you can fit 15's do it, but if you are getting 2 amps to power it then make a partition in the box, or your gonna get cancellation there as well.

Loud, a pair of 15's or a pair of darn good 12's. High on the loud scale will be the DD line. A change to the box is a must. The box will make or break the output of the system.

4 12s or 2 15s gets my vote... if you can get more of the 12s you have now it might not be a bad idea.....

mixing different subs will mess with phasing and group delay.... please don't do it...

building the right box and choosing the right woofer will get you the sound you want... it has nothing to do with large or small.... and what you probably want since you listen to rock, is literally a slower woofer (as far as acceleration & peak cone velocity is concearned).... higher losses for improved accuracy also described as sounding 'tight'.... also generally associated with a lack in low bass extension with more pronounced boom in the midbass...

Loud = DD3512 or greater for the amount of power you have available to you.
