Wus up all my fellow cunucks! Im from the east coast as u all can see below. Neways I drive a 92 4 door hatchback Dodge Shadow...BEAUTIFULL CAR!j/k and im just gettin into the subs and the amp stuff recently. I'v already gone through 3 head units from a Koss(ya i know ) to a JVC to a Kenwood and now a new Sony Explod. Im really attracted to the new Sony Explod gear even tho all i hear is negative stuff. I dont wanna spend alot on this but i still want to sound good. Iv mostly been dealing with Future Shop and Crappy Tire so my options arnt allll that great. Ne ways heres what im looking to get
My current Deck:
Sony CDX-L510X
CD Receiver
Amp(s) im looking at:
Sony XMD400P5 1-Channel Car Amplifier
Sony XMD400P5 1-Channel Car Amplifier
Now a question I have is which one of those amps would be good pick to power 2 of these subs?:
Sony XSL101P5 10" Car Subwoofer
Another question that I have is if those sony 10's can sound better than one of these:
Pioneer TS-W255C 10" Car Subwoofer
See my friend is a big pioneer fan and im not so i'm tryin to avoid using pioneer to sound better than him by hopefully goin with the explods.
Next question. I plan on building a box...but as u can probably see i have no clue what im talkin about. I listen to alot of rap so should i go with sealed? At the same time i want the best boom for my buck.
Sealed Box Volume 0.75 CU FT per sub.(i plan on putting two subs in) Can someone possibly find me some measurments for this box, Keep in mind i have a varely big trunk so anything would probably fit for 2 tens. Something like a blueprint. Im not all into the fancy language u guys talk so if anyone replys talk in measurements not like cubics and omhs and db's cause i dont understand u lol...i know i should probably read up on all this but i havnt had time. So i'v come to u guys, those Americans dont like helpin much. Lots of replies would be great!

if you really want to get something for next to nothing than i would suggest that you start looking at concept for your subs and amps. the sony deck, features vs. $$$$ is a decent unit. there is always better gear no matter what level of money you have to spend. stick with that deck and look at concept. they have a 10" sub you can buy for about $140, that kills the rockford HX2. this was proven at an IASCA show in red deer this summer. the sub is a CEX10. you have to buy it soon though because they are almost out of them. the amps are ***** to the walls the best power for the buck and they are bullet proof. go to www.conceptconcept.com to find your nearest dealer. Those Pioneer subs kick a$$!!
LBKC put one 10" on a 200 watt amp in a Jeep........HOLY CRAP!!We are still trying to get her to come out and compete with it..
As far as the Sony's go,one of out guys here in town runs all Sony gear in his Civic...4 10's on about 1500 watss(????)....the thing is stupid loud....
As far as the box....do you want to add just a bit of thump or do you look to goo full out"WHAT???WHAT??I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!"
If you want just a bit of thump....go sealed..if you want deadly bass,go slot port...
Hope that was of some help.....

Thanks guys...I dont think i will go wit the concept mainly because im not into buying over the net and theres no dealers around here. As for sound that I want, I want a nice heavy thump but im not into competitions or anything like that i just want people to hear me coming. The thing is with a ported I im gettin into even higher level of difficulty. But if someone can help me by givin me step by step instructions on makin a ported box and givin me the proper dimensions it would be great!

I have one of those Pioneer 10's to use in my hatch temp until I can afford Focal or JL. Go for it, and use the spare tire well as much as you can. I used to have that car and put an amp rack in the well to save space.

The Sony gear is perfectly capable equipment. This car gets quite loud: http://www./sony_neon_cover.htm
